The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates’ Court from Nov 26 - Dec 1.

November 26:

Keiron Dodge (aged 22), of St Andrew’s Square, Hastings, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault by beating. The offence took place at Hastings on October 23. He was also convicted of assaulting a woman by beating and criminal damage, which took place in Croydon on June 4. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, The court also made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work.

Neil Saunders (aged 35), of Jarvis Brook Close, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a Jaguar S Type car on Withyam Road, Bexhill, on November 11, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 68 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £110 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Jack Fisher (aged 20), of Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to four charges of assaulting a woman by beating and a charge of causing £50 damage to furniture. The offences took place at Eastbourne in June and October. The court made a community order with a requirement to attend a domestic abuse programme and to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.

November 27:

Thomas Mackenzie (aged 26), of Manor Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating and a further charge of threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Robertson Street, Hastings, on May 17. The court made a community order with a requirement of 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £200 compensation.

Simon Pelling (aged 40), of Bulverhythe Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to two charges of breaking a non-molestation order imposed by a court. He was fined £150.

November 30:

Jonathan Kaukolahti (aged 41), of Bohemia Road, St Leonards, was sent to prison for eight weeks after admitting five charges of stealing from shops at Eastbourne and Seaford during October and a charge of being in possession of foil-lined bags, in connection with theft. The thefts included Lego worth £177.92, from Toytown in Seaford, and meat worth £105 from Co-op in Eastbourne. The court said the reason for the prison sentence was because of previous convictions.

December 1:

Andrew Billings (aged 33), of Frederick Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Hastings on November 2. The court made a community order with a requirement to attend a domestic abuse programme and to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work.

Colin Kursey (aged 54), of St Johns Road, St Leonards, was found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating. He also admitted causing £300 damage to the windscreen of an Audi car. The offences took place at Hastings on August 30. The court made a community order with 60 hours of unpaid work.
