Magistrates’ Court round-up

November 2:

Claire Jones (aged 30), of Brendan Rise, Hastings, was found guilty of two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Hastings on September 11. The court made a community order with 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered her to pay £50 compensation. They also issued a restraining order, which included a requirement not to go into the Fountain pub in Queens Road.

Robert Kelly (aged 31), of Snowdrop Rise, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop for police and driving with no insurance. The offences took place at Celandine Drive, St Leonards, on September 10. He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months. The court also made a community order with 150 hours unpaid work.

Lawrance Vallier-Green (aged 22) of Whatlington Road, Battle, was found guilty of taking a 20ft sailing boat without the owners consent. He also pleaded guilty to obstructing a police officer. The offences took place in Bristol on June 18. He also admitted stealing confectionary worth £2 from ESK, at Hastings, and being in possession of cannabis resin on September 28. The court made a community order with 150 hours of unpaid work.

Gladys Sieyadji (aged 26), of Pevensey Road, was found guilty of assault by beating. The offence took place at St Leonards, on April 11. She was given a six month conditional discharge.

Christopher Reed (aged 50), of Hornbeam Avenue, Bexhill, was found guilty of driving a Kawasaki motorcycle without due care and attention. The offence took place at St Helens Road, Hastings, on July 30. He was fined £90 and his driving record endorsed with four points.

November 4:

Adrian Cooper (aged 45), of Lea Avenue, Rye, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford S Max vehicle on Rye Harbour Road, while twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 106 mg - the legal limit is 35mg. He also pleaded guilty to obstructing police. He was banned for two years and ordered to complete 130 hours unpaid work.
