Magistrates’ Court round-up

The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates’ Court from October 9 to October 14.

October 9:

Lee Shepherd (aged 51) of Denham Way, Camber, was found guilty, following a trial, of damaging a garden fence. The offence took place in Rye on July 11. He was also found guilty of threatening and abusive behaviour, at Camber on the same day. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs totalling £1,470.

October 13:

Nicholas Smith (aged 45), of no fixed address, was found guilty, following a trial, of assault by beating. The offence took place at Whatlington, Battle, on September 3. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Gary Cornwall, aged 49), of Old London Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra vehicle on Old London Road, on July 16 with cannabis in his blood which exceeded the specified limit. He was fined £500 and banned from driving for a year.

Sharni Marsh (aged 21), of Tilebarn Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place, at White Rock, Hastings on September 27. She was given a six month conditional discharge.

Aaron Mcleod (aged 26), of Braybrooke Terrace, Hastings, pleaded guilty to stealing jeans and a coat, valued at £175 from Debenhams in Eastbourne on September 28. He also admitted stealing food items valued at £11.17 from the One Stop shop in Bexhill on September 17. The court made a community order with 60 hours of unpaid work.

Keisha Moulton, (aged 22), of Magdalen Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assault and a further charge of assaulting a police officer at White Rock, Hastings, on September 27. The court made a community order.

Jaaz Tate (aged 26), of Terrace Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of one ounce of cannabis at St Leonards on October 1. He was fined £ 100.

Paul Turner (aged 49), of Panel Lane, Pett, pleaded guilty to driving on Panel Lane while over the drink drive limit. He gave a reading of 47mg. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £140 and banned for one year.
