Magistrates’ Court round-up

The following are court results from Hastings Magistrates’ Court for July 15 - 20.

July 15:

William Baughurst (aged 51), from Hampden Close, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to causing £510.51 to a glass door at Hastings Police Station on June 18. Magistrates imposed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £250 in compensation.

Alex Bowes (aged 25), of Elphinstone Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. The offence took place at Hastings on June 27. He was fined £200.

Ty Simmons (aged 40) of Hawthorne Avenue, Gillingham, Kent, pleaded guilty to driving while twice over the legal alcohol limit. The offence took place at Guestling on June 28 when he was driving a Vauxhall Corsa.

He gave an alcohol breath reading of 71 microgrammes. He also pleaded guilty to having no licence or insurance. He was banned from driving for 18 months and fined a total of £400.

Ryan Denton (aged 26), of De Cham Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of cannabis at Hastings on June 28. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Steven Baker (aged 26) of Kingscott Close, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra while over the specified blood limit of a controlled drug - Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol.

The offence took place at Ninfield on April 30. He was fined £100 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Gemma Collett (aged 33), was convicted, following a not guilty trial, of being in possession of the Class A drug diamorphine at Bexhill on December 19 2014 She was also found guilty of having one gram of cocaine and a quantity of cannabis on the same day. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Keith Williams (aged 51) of Church Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving his Citroen car at Hastings on April 8 while over the specified blood limit of a controlled drug Benzoylecgonine. He was fined £100 and disqualified for 12 months.

July 20:

Rachel Ash (aged 30), of Wykeham Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and using threatening behaviour. The offences took place in Hastings on April 17. She was given a two year conditional discharge.
