Maria is new head at Bexhill prep school

BATTLE Abbey School has announced that Maria Maslin has been appointed new head of its preparatory school in Hastings Road.

Judy Clark will leave at the end of summer term when Maria takes over in preparation for the start of the 2011/12 year.

Roger Clark, senior school headmaster, said; “I am absolutely delighted to welcome someone of Maria’s quality onto the team.

“In Maria we feel we have appointed someone with both the knowledge and experience this important role requires, and the drive to continue to push the prep school forward, whilst maintaining the core values that have made the prep school such a popular choice under Judy’s tenure.”

He added that Ofsted has described Maria as “outstanding and inspirational” and the school was “extremely fortunate”.

Maria has more than 22 years of experience in teaching, currently heads both Punnetts Town and Broad Oak Community Primary Schools, and is also a school governor.
