McDonald's: Teenager faces robbery charge

A BEXHILL teenager has appeared in court over an alleged raid at McDonald's, Glyne Gap, last week.

Alan Hollingsworth, 19, is set to stand trial at Lewes Crown Court.

Hollingsworth, of Dorset Road, Bexhill, declined to enter a plea to the charge of robbery at Hastings Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.

Hollingsworth was also charged with making off without payment from a petrol station and failing to answer bail, to which he pleaded guilty, and was given two consecutive sentences of seven days' detention.

He will appear at Lewes Crown Court on October 18 for a preliminary hearing.

r Police say four other people have been arrested in connection with robbery.

They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
