MP Amber is grilled by aspirational students

Hastings MP and Energy Secretary Amber Rudd was quizzed on everything from climate change to high speed rail when she addressed students at Bexhill College last week.

More than 100 pupils attended the event last week when Amber took part in a questions and answers session.

The MP commented: “I was pleased to accept Bexhill College’s invitation to speak to their students as nearly half live in my constituency. It was a lively session, with some very intelligent and detailed questions, especially regarding my role as Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. It was fantastic to see the students so engaged with politics and current affairs.”

Dr Luke Flanagan, Politics Teacher at Bexhill College commented: “It was a thoroughly enriching experience for our students to meet with and question an incumbent cabinet minister. I was very pleased with the breadth of questioning.

“The anticipation of Amber’s visit created a buzz all around the college and was attended by 100 students from a range of academic disciplines, including Politics, World Development, Science in Society, Sociology and Geography. I hope Amber will ‘cross the border’ to see us again soon.”
