A specialist hospital is teaming up with a mobile DJ club to raise money for The Sussex Disability Football League.

The Langford Centre will be joined by Fresh Track DJ Workshops and Kiss My Disco on Wednesday August 12 at Jesters nightclub.

All money raised will go towards supporting the Sussex Disability Football League by contributing towards running costs such as facility hire, referees and the end of season ceremonies that honour the achievements of the league’s players.

All of the music at the fundraising event will be orchestrated by Kiss My Disco, a mobile DJ club organised by Fresh Tracks DJ Workshops along with the residents of The Langford Centre, an independent specialist hospital in Bexhill , that serves men and women with complex mental health needs.

The league was originally set up in 2009 and offers the chance for those with disabilities to play competitive football on a regular basis and has grown year-on-year to incorporate 24 teams from across the Sussex area.

Sussex County Football Association representative, Clare Nichols added: “It’s important that everyone has a chance to play football. We feel it’s essential that everyone who wants to play competitive football has the opportunity to enjoy themselves.

“It’s fantastic that The Langford Centre have been so proactive in organising this event and shows the value they place on the Competition.”

Event co-ordinator and occupational therapist at The Langford Centre, Rebecca Ponchard said: “We’re pleased that The Langford Centre will be able to contribute towards the continuance of The Sussex Disability Football League.

“We hope that we will fill Jesters and raise lots of money for the league, so that it can continue to bring joy to those keen football fans with disabilities.”
