New cycle group

Calling all Bexhill cyclists...

Did you know that there is a Bexhill cycle network which has been approved by Rother District Council and East Sussex County Council?

Nick Hanna of HastingsUrbanBikes wants to know why this is not being implemented and why there is nothing in the budget to promote cycling and build the cycle network.

He commented: "With climate change so high on the international agenda, why are our elected politicians doing nothing to make improvements to the cycling infrastructure on the ground?

"Rother District Council is also currently reviewing the by-laws relating to cycling on Bexhill promenade, so it's very important that cyclists make their voices heard."

If you're a cyclist interested in campaigning on this and other issues, please come along to a meeting to discuss forming a new, independent Bexhill cycle group. 7.30pm Tuesday December 30 in the small function room Mermaid Pub, Sackville Village, De La Warr Parade, Bexhill TN40 1LS (on the prom on the way to Galley Hill).

If you'd like to be involved but can't make this meeting, please send your details by email to [email protected] or tel: 0845 838 1569.
