Proposals for a new road in north Bexhill are being shown to the public on Thursday (June 25) as the latest major phase of the regeneration programme for the area.
The ‘North Bexhill Access Road’ would be a 2.4km single carriageway which would connect the A269 Ninfield Road northwest of Sidley to the forthcoming Bexhill-Hastings Link Road (Combe Valley Way).
Those behind the new road say it would provide access to extensive business development land identified in the Rother Local Plan, helping local firms to expand and attracting companies to the area, creating jobs.
It added that the new road would help to reduce traffic along the A269 through Sidley.
A planning application for the road is intended to be submitted later this summer.
The exhibition of proposals will take place on Thursday June 25, 2-8pm at Bexhill College, Penland Road.
Members of the public are welcome to drop in, with no appointment necessary, to see the plans, ask questions and give their views.
