Patients awaiting treatment at Bexhill Hospital’s diabetic eye screening clinic will soon have the comfort of new waiting room chairs.
The League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital has responded to a request from East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
Members of the charity’s general committee were told last Thursday that a number of the old chairs had been “condemned” and removed from the waiting room.
The new chairs, costing a total of £2,301, will have hygienic wipe-clean upholstery, meaning that they will not have to be removed if soiled and the unit will meet infection control standards.
The League of Friends was founded in 1952 and is run by a committee of volunteers who organise fund-raising. For more visit www.bexhillhospitalfriends.org.uk.
