Bexhill College recently welcomed in a group of toddlers to launch their new specialist nursery room and facilities.

Parents had the opportunity to watch and relax while students interacted and played with their children as part of their early years training programme.

The dedicated space for children is now a centre of excellence to encourage and inspire students on all childcare courses who want to work in the early years sector.

Toddlers enjoyed all the new equipment and parents could see the benefits for themselves.

Aimi Rifat attended with her 19-month-old daughter Ayla and said: “I particularly liked the variety of activities on offer. Ayla got to interact with other children, develop her social skills and try new things.”

Another parent praised the facilities saying they were “modern and clean - perfect for the age range.”

Penny Smith, teacher in Childhood Studies, explained this was the first of many beneficial sessions.

She said: “We will be running the group every few weeks and will offer ten places per session. If spaces are in demand I will place names on a waiting list and contact people individually.”
