Police Community Support Officer Daryl Holter was able to secure £500 for the group through the Police Property Act Fund, according to Sussex Police.

This is made up of monies received by the police from the sale of found property, and from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold, police said.

Richard Creasey, of the 1st Ninfield Scout group, said: “The money has been spent on new equipment for outdoor activities including camping.

“This equipment will benefit the beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers, totaling around 120 young people.”

PCSO Holter said: “I am really happy to help and support the Ninfield Scouts.

“Currently the group has been active for 30 years and has provided education, team building and valuable life skills and experiences for the local young people.”
