Normanhurst carols

Practice makes perfect - care staff at the Normanhurst on De La Warr Parade spent months getting ready for their carol concert for residents.

But all that hard work paid off according to staff member Claire Macmillan who said: "We practised for three months so we could get it as perfect as possible.

"We were full to the rafters - there was such a good turnout for it.

"It went so well that we are going to put on a summer performance."

Fourteen care staff members took part in the concert, with John Knight on piano, and Maria Lozano acting as musical director. They sang a selection of Christmas carols including the newer O Holy Night.

"We wanted to do something for the residents," said Claire.

"Something for Christmas. We didn't really know what to do and then we just thought that perhaps we would try this.

"We had all the residents from the nursing home and people from the EMI unit came down as well.

"It was great - we taped it as well which was good. Now we just want to say thank you to the carers."
