He recognised himself in this Looking Back photograph published last week and contacted the Observer to say the massive 400lb burger was made by himself at Tiffany Foods in Beeching Road using only the finest cuts, and having been weighed and verified for the record, was sent off afterwards to Blackpool beach where it was cooked and served up for charity. Alan is in the forklift holding the sign, and he remembers the mould for the beefburger was made by chief engineer Dan Chadwick. Alan, now 76, said: “It was nice and tasty - it had all the best beef in it.”
