Olympic gymnast to visit Bexhill

Britain's top gymnast Beth Tweddle comes to Bexhill next Saturday to visit 1066 Gymnastics Academy and officially declare it open.

Beth became the World champion on Asymmetric Bars in 2006 and is the current European champion on Bars and Floor.

She is looking forward to competing at the O2 Arena this October when the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships come to London.

1066 owner Matthew Hart said: " The day will kick off with a treat for our squad gymnasts as they spend some quality time with Beth in their gym. The children aged from 4-15 years will train with Beth and get to ask her all about her experiences which include representing GB at both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympics."

At 11:00am ticket holders will fill the gym to watch as Beth officially opens the facility and 1066 squad gymnasts perform for her as well as friends and families.

Matthew added: "Everyone will then have the chance to get Beth's autograph. Our gymnasts are thrilled to be welcoming an Olympian into their gym... Beth is a great ambassador of the sport and a real asset to British Gymnastics.

"She has been an idol for several of our gymnasts for many years. They are all working hard in the gym to prepare display pieces for her.

"There's a great buzz at the club as we get everything ready for the big day. Tickets are on sale from the club's reception for the event."
