The Club hosts a number of relaxed screenings which are specifically designed to welcome people who may benefit from a more relaxed environment, including people living with dementia.

There’s a relaxed attitude to noise and audience members are free to move around and leave the auditorium whenever they like.

There is also a quiet area in the Auditorium Foyer for anyone who needs a break during the screenings.

All staff and volunteers have attended Dementia Friends awareness sessions, run by the Bexhill Dementia Action Alliance and sensitively and respectfully welcome people living with dementia and their carers.

The De La Warr Pavilion has been working in partnership with the Bexhill Dementia Action Alliance and Rother District Council in setting up the screenings which first launched last year.

The screenings are back by popular demand after being so well attended last year.

Annie and her mother both from Bexhill attended last year’s film screenings and said “I enjoyed many special afternoons with my mother at the film club last year.

“It was lovely to do something ‘normal’ but with the added interaction and an understanding of the clientele.

“It’s great the screenings are continuing this year. We are both looking forward to the new season this year.”

The full details and dates for the screenings will be announced soon.
