I am helping to produce a history of the 2nd Bexhill Scout Group.

I have discovered that the Scouts entered a ‘dragon’ into the Bexhill Carnival in July 1979. Sadly, there is no photograph of the dragon.

By chance, do any of your readers have such a photo?

The ‘dragon’ was made from about 25 feet of curtain material, covered by painted newspaper ‘scales’, with a papier mache head, and a corkscrew ‘tail’, carried by a cub scout with a back pack.

Underneath the ‘skin’ were about a dozen scouts, holding it up with hula hoops.

I was a fundraiser for the group in the 1970s and 1980s, and would like to thank all the citizens of Bexhill who supported us so generously.

Anyone with any information can contact me at [email protected].
