As the present chairperson of The Little Common and Cooden Business Association I would like to pay tribute on behalf of myself and the association to Cllr Stuart Earl.

Stuart was an active member of the association and had roles as deputy chairman and chairman over the years. This was alongside his many other roles within Bexhill. He was always passionate about the Little Common community and the small businesses within it, offering valuable support and assistance whenever he could.

This year he has played a big role in organising new lights for the Christmas Tree and a lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 2 – it will be a great pity that he will not be there to see the new display.

He was instrumental in representing the views of local people without any political prejudice as an independent councillor and could always be relied on to pursue any issues which affected the people of Bexhill and, in particular, Little Common.

The Little Common and Cooden Business Association will be forever indebted to Stuart for the way he has served Little Common and he will be truly missed.

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
