With the advent of winter fast approaching can I request that all Bexhill Traders provide seating or shelter for customers who are now required, due to the virus, to queue outside trading premises.

I have seen, in Bexhill a scene like a third world country where elderly and disabled people are holding on to buildings whilst queuing for service. Shops and premises have removed all seating for customers and I will draw their attention to the highways act which provides allowance for seating and shelter on public highways.

I understand that Rother Council recently removed seating from Bexhill town centre following complaints from local traders of anti-social conduct. That is a matter for Police action and this seating could be replaced as a matter of urgency.
