A complicated relationship

Do you find Sunday services and church goers difficult? So do I. Have you had a bad experience with a church? So have I, quite a few.

About 50 per cent of people in Britain identify loosely as Christian but feel no need to go to church on a Sunday. It is these people I want to invite to the Summer Open air Hymn Singing, Sunday, July 24 at 8pm at the Colonnade on the seafront.

I’m never quite sure if I’m on the inside looking out or the outside looking in with ‘churches’. I find meeting together over coffee during the week at many churches easier than the Sunday service. Sometimes I feel part of a church and loved, at other times I go months separated from all churches.

If you feel even a little like me, it’s a complicated relationship with churches, why not attend the Summer Open air Hymn singing on neutral ground. You can wander in, perhaps stand on the balcony, and wander out.
