Devastated to lose Sturat Earl, a dear friend of Bexhill

From: Tony & Maggie Mansi, Richmond Grove, Bexhill

We were devastated to hear of the passing of Stuart Earl, affectionately known as ‘The Earl of Sidley’ – a very dear friend and colleague.

We sadly only knew Stuart for 20 years having first met through the Bexhill Chamber of Commerce & Tourism.

We wish to thank Stuart for his unwavering friendship, having spent several holidays with him and Deirdre. We wish to thank him for his undaunted commitment to helping others through all the organisations that he either chaired or held a prominent role. I personally wish to thank him for being the first major donator to my new venture at the time, the Bexhill Festival of Music. With his financial help we were able to transform this into a thriving registered charity which continues to grow and expand annually.

I would also like to thank him for his wisdom, support and sense of humour during my four years as Independent councillor for Collington Ward.

Bexhill has lost one of its foremost community players.

Our thoughts and support are with Deirdre and his family.
