Is development off limits?

In 2012 as part of the background research into a possible new rail station at Glyne Gap, SHRIMP raised the possibility of the GG Field being utilised for associated car-parking.

This is the unedited response from Cllr Peter Chowney: “ 10th October 2012: The Glyne Gap fields are protected open space, so wouldn’t be available for car parking. That can always be changed of course, but there would be a lot of objections – that land has been proposed for all sorts of transport-related purposes, including an airport! Best wishes, Peter Chowney”

So another planning circus arrives.

But unless the status of the field has been subsequently altered, or sold off on the cheap at a car boot sale, that surely makes the current restaurant application doomed to failure.

Or has someone sent in the real clowns.
