Emotional day at memorial event

Please may I thank everyone who attended and supported the Ken Cherry memorial event at Little Common Rec on Sunday, August 21.

It was such a special and emotional day. He founded the club 50 years ago this year.

I am sure my dad would have loved to celebrate with his players of years gone by and present players and of course Leon Legge who made the long journey from Cambridge to be with us .

The only disappointment was Rother District Council not allowing us to bury or even scatter his ashes at the club where he dedicated so much of his life to.

As many people have said he belongs there - after all, he was ‘Mr Little Common FC’.

Thanks also to ‘Harolds Hog Roast’ for the delicious food. We raised enough money for a bench which will be near to the clubhouse when it arrives.
