Good care at hospital

I AM sick and tired of reading about the negative reports regarding the Conquest Hospital. Whilst it is true, that there is always room for improvement.

Over the years, both my wife and I have had cause to use the services at this hospital, for very serious health problems. In every case, we have received from the nurses, doctors, and other medical staff, including the ambulance staff, first class care and treatment. The compassion and expertise that has been shown to us is second to none, and far superior to the so-called top London hospitals, where I have had to undergo treatment.

Also, as a minister of the Gospel, I have on numerous occasions had the responsibility of visiting sick members of my congregation. Never have I had cause to complain about the care and concern given, the staff have always been helpful, whilst maintaining a professional disposition.

So on behalf of my wife and myself, I would like through the pages of this paper to express our thanks to the doctors, nurses and other medical staff for their care.

THERE have been very negative reports in the press recently regarding the Conquest Hospital. Here is a positive one!

I was admitted with a life-threatening disorder. I was treated instantly and had two operations but there were complications and I was sent to ICU where I was put on a life support machine for approximately one month during which time I also got pneumonia. The staff in ICU and HDU are fantastic and without them I wouldn’t be here. They make you appreciate life!

I WOULD like to thank the nurses and staff of Cookson/Attenbrook Ward at the Conquest Hospital for their sympathetic and caring treatment I received following my recent knee operation. A special thank you to Winnie for her attentive care.
