It has made such a difference

What a wonderful new road we have in our area, and what a great difference it has made already.

On the Thursday afternoon it opened I had the pleasure of driving from Queensway end to Bexhill and back.

And what a great feeling to drive along this new road. I was surprised how much traffic was already using the road.

Living in Harley Shute Road,we immediately saw the difference in the rush hour that evening, with the lack of vehicles going past our house.

The next morning we could hardly believe how quiet it was,and we even found it easy to get out of our house in rush hour! Later on Friday I decided to travel from Bexhill back home on the A259 and could not believe how good the traffic was flowing from Bexhill bypass and along De La Warr Road and Bexhill Road then up Harley Shute Road. It was amazing!

It was certainly interesting how the traffic has split between the two routes, and given an option for travelling in either direction.

Again, over the weekend, it was almost like Harley Shute Road had gone back to being a country lane 40 years ago,it was so peaceful.

Having said all this, I fully appreciate, and sympathise, with residents along The Ridge, with the extra traffic they are having.

They must look forward and await the new Gateway Road to take traffic to the A21,and onwards west via the A28 Westfield and Brede to Rye and on.

We all know that this is a quicker route to Rye than along The Ridge.

It is a shame that the protestors have delayed this road already, as they did the Link Road, and cost us millions, without thinking of the positives of these new roads. Thank you very much for Coombe Valley Way.
