Many positive things

There are many positive things to be said about the new Bexhill High School site. It is just sad that we the parents hear them last.

Recently my wife and I had a half hour meeting with Mr Conn, the headteacher, and came away feeling quite positive. He listened to our concerns and explained that some decisions are taken elsewhere and he has to implement them only.

We have had children at Bexhill High for six years and communication has always been the biggest problem. Even with special needs children, it takes a crisis to be allowed into the school for a meeting.

My advice to the leadership and governors of Bexhill High is a five-minute meeting earlier with a junior member of staff saves a lot of problems and a half-hour meeting later with the headteacher!

Thank you to the Bexhill Observer for regularly telling me what the High School should do first!

• In reply to Sandra James, yes my letter about parking was serious. No my child can’t get a bus or walk five minutes down the road because he’s autistic and has a special needs assistant all day at the High School.

I do like to use my common sense to avoid problems, especially where disabled people are concerned.
