Teach them not to leave litter

I am disgusted with the litter lout behaviour of a number of pupils at Bexhill High School.

Gunter’s Lane is comparatively clean during school summer holidays, but as soon as they return then rubbish returns. It seems to me that as long as the teachers continually turn a blind eye to the amounts of litter deposited by students in the games courts, or the dangers of plastic bottles rolling around the courts, or litter in the grass playing fields to which the public have no access and also the whole school area.

Pupils will think, ‘well the teachers don’t seem to care so why should we?’

What kind of teachers are we employing who are obviously not ashamed of this behaviour? Thus they are giving tacit encouragement, not just for students to litter school areas, but to litter surrounding roads and to throw litter into the front gardens in Gunter’s Lane. Has the head teacher never taken the time to walk the bounds? Residents I have spoken to are equally annoyed.
