The PM was right to stand by Dominic Cummings

Your correspondent, Diana Austin, voiced her displeasure at the actions of the Prime Minister and Mr Cummings but she has failed to mention other political figures who have breached the “code”.

It was reported in the news that a leading Labour MP had been spoken to by police for unnecessary travel to visit his parents. There was no organised uproar and he was not punished.

I found it refreshing that the Prime Minister stood by his employee , most UK politicians look for a scapegoat when the proverbial hits the fan.

I guess Mr Cummings’ real crime is to have masterminded the campaign to get the UK out the EU.
