Why is it so cold in hospital?

I HAVE just spent almost five weeks as a patient in Wellington Ward at the Conquest Hospital, St Leonards, after suffering three falls in one night. I would like to make the following points about my stay:

1. There was no heating. It was so cold. How do they expect people to get better with no heating, especially the elderly.

2. The beds were very poor, even though I had a new one. It was so narrow, you could not turn, and I fell out several times.

3. The ward was very short of staff, although those who were there did their best under the circumstances.

4. The food was good, and there was plenty of it.

I felt I ought to write this letter regarding my stay at the Conquest Hospital.
