Outstanding accolade for St Mary Magdalene's

FOLLOWING a successful OFSTED inspection, St Mary Magdalene Primary School has now achieved an overall outstanding grade from the Diocesan inspectors, who visited the school to carry out a Section 48 inspection.

Using the same rigorous criteria as for a full OFSTED inspection, the Section 48 inspectors focus on the school’s RE provision and Catholicity.

The report just published indicates that eight out of 10 areas inspected are all ‘outstanding’ and the other two were good with elements of outstanding.

The report strongly praised the leadership of the headteacher, the school management team and the governors. It also highlighted that St Mary Magdalene is “a truly inclusive school” and that “there is a very strong sense of belonging to the school community.”

Headteacher Trish Longmire said, “As a community we are all delighted with this outcome; it truly reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of all those involved.”
