Charity wins European funding for joint project that will help people living in the most deprived areas of Hastings and Rother

The project, called Working to Capacity, has funded by European Social Fund in partnership with Connecting Hastings and Rother Together [CHART - Hastings Borough Council] and match funding from Horizons Legacy Fund.

The project under the name of SLiC (Skills and Learning in the Community) is a partnership of local adult learning providers, Chapel Park Community Centre, Education Futures Trust, Education Training Consortium Sussex, FSN, Hastings Furniture Service and Little Gate Farm.

It will support local people living in the most deprived areas of Hastings and Rother to access learning opportunities across the partnership to improve skills, confidence and resilience.

Tracey Rose, CEO of FSN said, “The project will go a long way to ensure people engaging in learning have a strong voice in what adult learning opportunities there are into the future and the funding will enable providers in the area to work together to build a more sustainable offer”.
