Family tribute after Shoreham Airshow tragedy

The family of a man believed to have died in the Shoreham Airshow tragedy has paid tribute to him.

Sussex Police has identified at least 11 people as ‘highly likely’ to have died after a plane crashed on the A27 on Saturday (August 22).

The family of Maurice Abrahams, 76, from Brighton, said in the tribute: “Maurice is a well-respected and loved father and husband.

“He enjoyed his work chauffeuring his beloved Daimler car and he enjoyed gardening.

“He was proud to have served in the Grenadier Guards and the Parachute Regiment.

“He served in Cyprus and Bahrain with the UN. In his thirties he served as a police officer with Hampshire Police.

“The family would ask that its privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
