Four-day floral extravaganza to be held at leading Sussex gardens
A four day floral extravaganza - ‘Flower Power’ - is to take place at a leading Sussex beauty spot later this year.
The event, being staged at the Grade 1 listed gardens of Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens at Lower Beeding, is celebrating the diamond anniversay of the Sussex area of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies.
It will take place from Thursday September 9 to Sunday September 12 inclusive.
Show chairman Gaenor Circus said: “Our design team are RHS Chelsea medallists and many of our members involved in arranging the numerous exhibits at the show are themselves Chelsea medallists, including numerous Golds and ‘Best in Show’.”
She said that the Flower Power show will feature innovative and eye-catching floral exhibits in imaginative settings.
And visitors will also have an opportunity to watch a series of mini-demonstrations by leading figures from the world of flower arranging in Sussex.
“As well as a host of eye-catching floral exhibits, there will be many trade stands with interesting and original items,” said Gaenor.
There will also be a chance to win a case of Leonardslee wine in a competition sponsored by Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, along with a raffle to win a fabulous afternoon tea for two. The tea will be brought to the winner by head chef Jean Delport of Leonardslee’s Restaurant Interlude, which received its first Michelin star last year.
There will also be a tombola in aid of Sussex Area’s own charity, The Sussex Kidney Trust.
