Here is why firefighters were in Hastings town centre

Firefighters sealed off part of Hastings town centre on Sunday (December 27) following an incident.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) said masonry had fallen from a building in Robertson Street prompting fire crews to tape off the area to pedestrians.

The service said it received a call about the incident just after 1.20pm.

One fire appliance was sent and the aerial ladder platform was used, ESFRS added.
