The Sussex branch of Dog First Aid continued to run its courses during lockdown in a virtual format. Now it is preparing for the first in-person course since March.

Kathy Hobson, dog lover and owner-operator of the Sussex branch of Dog First Aid said: “We will be adhering strictly to government guidelines of course, including the wearing of face masks, social distancing and stringent cleaning and hygiene measures. I am doing everything I can to make the in-person courses safe for everyone and yet still an enjoyable learning experience.”

Kathy adapted her business model at the start of lockdown to provide live virtual courses, but is enthusiastic about reinstating in-person training sessions.

She explained: “Digital technology is not for everyone. I can’t wait to start teaching in-person courses again so that everyone who wishes to learn Dog First Aid can access a course in a format that suits them and their lifestyle. It will be lovely to be able to meet fellow dog lovers again and I am confident that the in-person courses will still be relaxed and fun as well as informative and safe.”

Kathy is a proud pet parent to rescued mixed-breed Freddie. She loves bringing her CPD accredited training courses to canine professionals and dog owners, empowering them with the vital skills and confidence to help their four-legged friends in an emergency situation.

Courses cover everything from the basics of checking dogs’ vital signs to how to deal with bleeding, poisoning, choking, burns and much more, with the latest CPR techniques demonstrated on dog dummy, Cassie.
