Two men die after being pulled from sea at Hastings

Two men who were pulled from the sea at Hastings have died, Sussex Police confirmed.

Emergency services were called to East Beach Street, Hastings, at around 11.20am on Thursday (October 8) after two men got into difficulty in the water.

Both were pulled from the sea and received treatment from emergency services at the scene before being taken to the Conquest Hospital, police said.

The two men – a 34-year-old man from London and a 38-year-old man from Hastings – both sadly died at the hospital later that day, a spokesman confirmed on Monday (October 12).

Sussex Police added: “Next of kin have been informed and the matter has been passed to the coroner’s officer.”

Ambulance crews were called to the scene and were joined by the air ambulance service.
