Water returns to Hastings and Rye homes affected by burst main

Water has now returned to most of the homes affected by a burst main in Broad Oak.

Southern Water had earlier advised people living in the TN31 6 and TN31 7 areas to collect bottled water from two collection points. One at the Broad Oak pub has now closed and the other at the Gibbet Marsh car park will close at 7.30pm.

In an update just before 7pm Southern Water said: "With the repair to the burst main in BroadOak now complete and recharging of the network almost complete, most properties should now be back in full supply, with the remaining few due to be. The bottled water collection point at the Broad Oak Pub is now closed and the one at Gibbet Marsh Carpark, TN31 7DT, will close at 7.30pm.

The burst water main was first reported on Tuesday morning (February 23) and left many residents without any running water.
