Peugeot has channelled the spirit of the much-loved 205 GTi – affectionately dubbed as Peugeot’s original ‘pocket rocket’ back in 1984 – into this latest model, putting motorists into overdrive in anticipation ahead of its arrival.

The 208 GTi certainly looks the part. Each detail is designed with style in mind, with the three-door 208 body adorned with a gloss black rear skirt, a chromed double exhaust, unique 17 inch Diamond Carbon Alloys and a quarter panel trim bearing the distinctive retro GTi logo.

Plus there are red highlights throughout the vehicle, including the brake calipers and bright red neon lights surrounding the instrument cluster.

While the DAB Digital Radio and multi-function touchscreen welcome the driver into a new technological age, the new GTi will never forget its predecessor.

The new GTi is designed to appeal to driving enthusiasts; it is light, powerful and very quick! The 1.6 Turbo-charged engine develops 200 bhp which rockets you to 60mph in 6.8 seconds and all the way to 143mph!

Agile and reactive, the GTi balances from one turn to the next with precision, delivered by firm steering which directs the front suspension perfectly, leaving the driver in complete control with every curve.

The six-speed close-ratio gearbox draws the full potential from the chassis on the road.

It’s not all about the performance though, the 208 GTi delivers economy aswell, with annual road tax of £125 and upto 47.9 mpg combined, not bad for a 200 bhp hot-hatch!

Neal Pearne, Sales Manager at Motorhaven said “We’ve been looking forward to the Peugeot 208 GTi’s arrival since it was unveiled at last year’s Paris Motor Show and we can’t wait to showcase this breath-taking new model to all our customers in Hastings, Bexhill and surrounding areas.

“It’s the regeneration of a legendary car and we know that its arrival will create a real buzz among car enthusiasts .It promises an exhilarating drive while also making sure it stays loyal to its roots.

“Drivers of the 205 GTi will remember its ‘hot-hatch’ and ‘pocket rocket’ status fondly and we hope today’s drivers of the new model will look back and think the same in years to come. It’s safe to say that the GTi is back!”.

But don’t just take our word for it; here is what the experts say: Bravo Peugeot – the 208 GTi is a pleasant surprise after the disappointing 207 and

206 GTi’s. It’s quite happy to entertain you when you want to have some fun, but is never tiresome to drive when you don’t. - AUTO EXPRESS

It’s safe to say that the way the 208 blends fun with relaxed on-road manners and a classy, comfortable cabin definitely makes it the most complete hot
