PICTURES: Investigation to determine cause of serious fire in Rye

An investigation is due to take place to determine the cause of a serious fire in Rye yesterday (Wednesday, July 20).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire in the roof and first floor of a house in Fishmarket Road at around 3.30pm.

Flames had spread to adjoining properties but was contained by crews at around 7.15pm, with only one appliance remaining on the scene into the night.
