Police in Bexhill have donated £200 to Shining Lights, the voluntary organisation taking over responsibility for this year’s festive lights in the town centre.

Shining Lights director Anna Beale said: “On behalf of the team at Shining Lights we would like to thank Sussex Police for their donation and support.

“Without the backing of local businesses and services we couldn’t do this.”

The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund, made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

Bexhill town centre police community support officer Neil Holden said: “I am really pleased that Sussex Police has been able to support this great cause.

“It’s wonderful to see the town centre looking festive and I’m sure it’ll help to make Bexhill a more attractive place for people to do their Christmas shopping.”
