Police donation to Scout group

A Scout group in Ninfield received a welcome donation from Battle Police to help buy new resources for their upcoming Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

The 1st Ninfield Scout Group were given £200 by the police which will be put towards obtaining equipment including a tent, rucksacks, sleeping mats and bags for the Explorer Scouts’ future trials.

Explorer Scout leader Adam Shoesmith said: “We are delighted to accept this donation from Sussex Police.

“The extra equipment will aid Explorer Scouts on their expeditions.”

The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

Police community support officer (PCSO) Daryl Holter said: “Both myself and PCSO Rachael Scott are very happy to present this cheque to the Explorer Scouts.

“We wish them every success in their expeditions and Duke of Edinburgh Awards.”
