Police launch armed raid on Sidley address
DOZENS of police carried out a mob-handed firearms raid on a home in Cumberland Road on November 10.
Three vans and several cars full of officers, along with a dog unit, swooped on the Sidley address at around 3pm.
Fearing a dangerous confrontation they blocked the road to pedestrians and traffic when they arrived to avoid putting anyone at risk.
Neighbours were asked to go into their homes and remain inside until told it was safe to come out.
Sgt Trish Reeve-Fowkes said: "Once inside the property certain items of interest were seized which require further police investigation.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of a burglary in the Eastbourne area."
Police maintained a presence in the area until evening.
