Residents bag grantTesco donate £8,000 to community project

Bexleigh, Hythe Abbey Residents' Association has bagged a share of an £11.5 million carrier bag charge fund allocated by supermarket giant Tesco.

It was awarded £8,000, which will be used to fund a Playspace Project .

Since the Association began in February 2013 it has been tirelessly fund raising for better amenities and the Play space Project. With funds already raised for the project it is hoped that the addition of this extra funding will enable them to create a sandpit with wooden play table

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its Bags of Help initiative, which saw grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to environmental and greenspace projects.
