Mr Norman was in collision with a Toyota Yaris driven by an 86-year-old local man, who was uninjured.

Traffic was diverted for three hours after the accident while police studied the scene.

The already-busy junction has become even more congested following the opening of the Tesco Express store in Collington Mansions, on the corner with Colebrooke Road.
