Roadworks will see closure of main Bexhill road

A main road in Bexhill will undergo resurfacing work over a two-week period later this year.

London Road will be closed to all traffic from October 31 to November 8, while carriageway recycling takes place.

There will be no vehicle access between St George’s Road and Combe Valley Way during this time.

From November 8 to November 16, the road will be closed only from 8pm to 6am from Wrestwood Road to Combe Valley Way.

An East Sussex Highways spokesman said: “Elements of this work will be noisy. Noisy work will stop by midnight. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

A diversion will be in place via Holliers Hill, Wrestwood Road A2036, A2690 Roundabout, Combe Valley Way A2690, and vice versa.

For the two days prior to the work - on October 28 and 29 - Highways will be carrying out kerbing works under temporary traffic lights.
