Row4Charity launch Bexhill Trust Challenger

Saturday sees the official naming and launch of the Bexhill Trust Challenger at Sovereign Harbour.

This is the Row4Charity boat which will be used by four Bexhill rowers in their attempt to race across the Indian Ocean.

Hundreds of names have been added to the side of the boat by members of the public as well as businesses and organisations donating money to the charity which is also collecting for the Stroke Association.

Everyone who has donated to the venture is invited to attend the launch tomorrow and visitors are asked to arrive at 11am for the 11.30 start.

The ceremony will begin with an introduction by Row4Charity followed by a Bexhill Trust speaker and a special guest Jeff Allen who in 1976 was one of the first men to row across the Atlantic Ocean.

At 11.45 the boat will be named and sprayed with champagne before being moved so that guest sponsors can look up close and ask any questions they might have.

A party will be held that night at Bexhill Rowing Club which will be invitation only.
