A charity which helps improve the lives and well-being of people with cancer has received a welcome financial boost.
Dee Blake, fundraising group manager for the Sara Lee Trust, hosted a successful bring and buy sale at her home in Cooden last Friday, raising £500.30 for the Trust.
More than 50 of Dee’s friends and Trust supporters attended the event, each bringing up to six items to donate for sale, with an array of clothing, accessories, bric-a-brac and jewellery on sale at pocket friendly prizes.
Dee thanked all the Sara Lee Trust Fundraising Group members and volunteers for supporting the evening.
She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who attended and to the people and businesses who generously donated raffle prizes.
Maria Gonet, fundraising manager at the Trust, said: ‘We are hugely grateful to Dee and The Sara Lee Trust Fundraising Group for their incredible commitment and support of our work.
“As a small charity, entirely reliant on fundraising and public donations, the funds they raise are hugely important and allow us to provide much needed care and support to local people.”
The Sara Lee Trust aims to improve the lives of people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in the area through the free provision of creative and complementary therapies, psychological and counselling support, and therapeutic group activities.
