Following the growing success of previous years Bexhill Lions Club is holding the town’s third Santa Dash on Saturday December 5.
This popular fun family festive event is open to all ages and abilities. The De La Warr Pavilion and Bexhill’s seafront will again be the setting for the sponsored event. So get into the festive spirit.
Whilst raising vital funds for your chosen good causes. You can run, jog, walk, push prams, walk the dog or use a wheelchair on the flat user friendly promenade. This year there will be awards for the best decorated pram, wheelchair and dog.
Registration is from 10.30am on the day on the De La Warr Pavilion Terrace and the festive hooter will start entrants from near the fountains at 11.30am.
The sauntering Santa’s will “dash” along the Seafront towards Brookfields Road , returning to the DLWP terrace, a distance of 2km(1.2miles).Those Santa’s keen to get in training for their busy Christmas deliveries can go on to Galley Hill then turn back to West Parade Toilets and return to the terrace, a distance of 5km (3.1miles).
Event Organiser Brian Comber said; “We would like people to register as soon as possible so that we have a good idea as to how many suits we will need. Registration will be available on the day but we may not be able to guarantee a suit. We are looking forward to another colourful event.”
Lions President Paul Fleming said: “This is a great event that the whole town can be involved with and we hope hundreds will take part. Last year the sight of over 150 Santas, classic cycles was just brilliant. So come and start the festive season with a really fun event.”
Entry is £11 Adults (14 yrs+) and £6 child(5-14yrs). This includes a free Santa outfit for you to run in. These can be collected from the Lions ‘stall at the Farmer’s Market on the following Fridays; November 20, 27 and December 4, 8am - 2pm. To register visit www.bexhill-lions.org.
