Scouts sleep rough in aid of homeless charity

A group of local scouts raised some much-needed funds for a local homeless charity by sleeping rough for the night.

Scouts from the 4th Hastings Troupe slept in cardboard boxes to get some idea of what it feels like to be homeless. Though they agreed they had great fun doing so it did help them to understand how difficult it is for many who have no choice but to sleep rough while finding new places to live. As a result of their sleep-out they raised £175 for the Seaview Project and handed over a cheque to Dr Brian Hick, a trustee at the Seaview Project, when he visited to talk about the on-going work the project does with the homeless. The event was organised by Scout leaders Michelle Brown and Stewart Hayler and the Scouts who slept out were Louis Lipsham, Jess Hills, George Eastes, Jack Eaton, Hannah Blomfield, Richard Baggs, Abigail Brown, Issie Hills, Alfie Williams and George Mann.
